Dominica's Karessah New Calypso Monarch 2009

Gregory 'Karessah' Riviere of Marigot with his signature song 'Pastor Rod' as well as 'Calypso Too Patriotic' was crowned the 2009 Calypso Monarch early Sunday morning at about 2 'o clock after two rounds of competition at Pottersville Savannah, the 'Carnival City'.

The first runner-up was former two-time winner and crowd favourite Davidson "Observer" Victor; second runner-up was Tarina Simon who recently won the Stardom Tent Monarch and Calyso Queen titles, while Andrew "Scrunter" Bazil won third runner-up.
