Dominica Carnival 2011 kicked into high gear Saturday afternoon with music, floats, and the annual opening parade that piled thousands of Dominicans and visitors alike along the street of Roseau.
Spectators couldn’t off asked for a better day. The weather was beautiful, which provided that requisite tropical heat to go along with the all masquerading going on.
The parade highlighted the colour and splendor of Dominica’s Carnival with a range of costume bands, traditional masquerade groups – like the Flag Wavers, Bwa Bwas, Sensays, HiFi Bands, and the seven beautiful Carnival Queen Contestants including the reigning Carnival Queen Marcia Baptiste were all in attendance. cont./
