Sugar Fire La Peau Kabwit Band entertained a jouve' last year...
For the second time the Salisbury Enhancement Committee will stage Fete Bawi 2k9 slated for October 02 to 04.
The celebrations will kick start with a church feast at the St. Theresa Catholic Church on October 01 at 7 p.m. in Salisbury. The homilist is Father Nigel Karam.
A ‘Free up Friday’ activity will be held on the Salisbury beach at 8 p.m. with Club DVD and DJs Gold Finger and Spoiler providing entertainment.
On Saturday morning, the community will take to the streets for a jouve' jam supported by the Sugar Fire La Peau Kabwit Band. Following that farmers and vendors will gather in the village for a Journe la place Bawi (Market Day in Salisbury). Awards will be given to the best dressed vendor, the best decorated stall and the vendor with the most variety of produce. A ceremony with addressed from the Minister of Culture and Community Development Loreen Bannis-Roberts and a representative from the Ministry of Agriculture will also be held at 8 a.m. during the market day.
The Triple Kay International Band, Club DVD, DJ Gold Finger and Mr. Mixx will be featured on Saturday evening at the Salisbury Beach starting at 9 p.m
On Sunday Fete Bawi culminates with a grand finale on the block with Nite Force Sound Band from 4 p.m.
